Development Ambassador Program

DCRA helps developers of large construction projects through its Development Ambassador Program (DAP). The DAP team guides projects from concept to successful completion.

Guiding Your Project Through the Regulatory Process

Our goal is to work with you to make the permitting process as painless as possible.
  • We will meet with your team to help you complete the permit process successfully.
  • We will work with reviewers and inspectors to troubleshoot compliance problems, with minimal delay and expense.
This will help you begin your project on schedule and meet development schedules.

Improving Service to the Development Community

We follow your project through the permit process until you get a Certificate of Occupancy. Working with you, we will:
  • Give your project team up-to-date information on where you are in the permitting process.
  • Make an Ambassador available when you need one.
  • Look out for obstacles and resolve them to keep your project on track.
  • Exchange information with other DC agencies involved in your development.
  • Hold regular interagency meetings to identify potential problems with your project.
  • Help other agencies to help you go through a smooth permit review.
  • Work with industry groups to learn how we can improve our permit processes.
Please call (202) 442-4541 to set up a meeting and begin the permit approval process today.
